The village of Llanbedrgoch sits high on a strata of limestone on the eastern side of Anglesey. According to official statistics it is “a hamlet of isolated dwellings” in an area described as “Sparse” according to postcode density. It consisted in November 2004 (census update) of 140 houses (of which 135 are permanently occupied) which are spread around two lanes (unclassified roads) bisecting the centre of the village.

The houses, some of which date back to the 17th century if not earlier, are surrounded by rolling farmland and wonderful views down to Red Wharf Bay in the east, across the wilderness that is the Cors Goch nature reserve in the northwest, across to the ancient church of Llandyfnan and Talwrn in the west and of course to the whole of the Snowdonia mountain range and Lleyn peninsula in the south.
